Child Restraints Policy
The safety of our customers is of the utmost importance to Apollo. Therefore we have developed a best practice approach to Child Restraints. We aim for the best safety (not just recommended levels) for our clients' children.
Below is a table which indicates the type and number of Child Restraints that can be fitted to our United States vehicles.
Clients can rent Child Restraints (must be pre-booked) from Apollo for USD 40 per rental. It is the client’s responsibility to fit them (our branch staff are legally unable to fit them or advise on how they should be fitted) to the vehicle and we recommend the following guidelines below.

Child Restraints from overseas will not conform to the standards required in the United States. We therefore strongly recommend overseas renters not to bring their own Child Seats as they will not be allowed to use them in Apollo vehicles.
For rentals in the United States we advise that clients should travel to and from our branches via taxi.

Baby Capsules/Rear Facing Baby Seats
Baby Capsules and or Rear Facing Baby Seats are not allowed to be fitted to any Apollo vehicle (including cars).
Baby Capsules and or Rear Facing Baby Seats are required for infants as follows:
- 0 to 9 kg weight or 5 to 30 lbs; or
- 0 to 6 months of age (on average); or
- up to 70 cm or 27 inches in length.
Baby Seats
Baby Seats are required for young children as follows:
- 9 to 18 kg weight or 20 to 40 lb; or
- 6 months to 4 years of age (on average); or
- above 70cm or 27 inches in length.
Booster Seats
Booster Seats are required for young children as follows:
- 14 to 45 kg or 30 – 100 lbs weight; or
- 4 to 7 years of age (on average).
All Child Restraints must be front facing only, cannot be fitted to rear or side facing seats and are to be fitted in the rear of Apollo vehicles.
In some vehicles the seat backing cushion will need to be removed to properly secure the child restraint.
