Reservation Terms and Conditions

Reservations

Reservations can be made up to 5 days prior to commencement of your proposed rental. Please fill in the Blue Travel Reservation Request (Standard Form | Secure Form) including the first eight (8) digits of your credit card number.

Blue Travel prefers reservations via the Internet. But you may also print out the reservation form and fax it to one of our worldwide offices:

Our Reservations staff will respond promptly to your inquiries and provide booking confirmations within 12 hours. The answer includes your reservation file number and the total amount due.

The reservation becomes final as soon as we receive the missing digits of your credit card number. If you fail to submit full credit card details within 48 hours after we sent your confirmation, we may cancel your reservation at any time.

Payment

BRITZ accept the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

A non-refundable 1.5% administration fee will apply to all credit card transactions, except for Britz Rental Cars.

A non-refundable deposit of NZD 100 is required at the time of reservation to guarantee the booking. The remainder will be automatically collected from your credit card 28 days prior to pick-up. If there are less than 28 days between your reservation and the commencement of your rental, the total amount (rental charges and other prepaid items) is due at the time of reservation.

Any credit card payment which cannot be authorized for any reason may result in a cancellation of the booking.

Change of Existing Reservations

If you need to change an existing reservation please send an e-mail to Blue Travel as soon as possible.

If you inform us about a change of your booking more than 25 days ahead of commencement of services, a fee of NZD 50 per vehicle may apply. If your e-mail reaches us less than 25 days prior to commencement of services, any alterations will be treated as a complete cancellation with a following new booking.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel an existing reservation please send an e-mail to Blue Travel as soon as possible. You may also cancel your reservation by sending a fax to one of our worldwide offices:

Any cancellation will be reconfirmed in writing (fax or e-mail) through Blue Travel. This reconfirmation will include the date and time we have received the cancellation and the fees involved. Your credit card will be used to both debit or credit the final amounts.

Cancellation Fees for Britz Rental Cars:

  • Until Blue Travel has received your final acceptance on the booking (no more than 7 days from initial booking): No charge.
  • If cancelled up to 2 days prior to pick-up: NZD 100 (your deposit).
  • If cancelled 1 day or less prior to pick-up or a No Show: 100% of Gross Rental.
  • Customers who fail to arrive on departure day or decline vehicle at departure day for whatever reason are considered as a departure day cancellation.
  • Late Pick-up or early return of vehicle, does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.

Cancellation Fees for all other vehicles:

  • Until Blue Travel has received your final acceptance of the booking (no more than 7 days from initial reservation): No charge.
  • If cancelled up to 25 days prior to pick-up: NZD 100 (your deposit).
  • If cancelled from 24 to 10 days prior to pick-up: 20% of Gross Rental.
  • If cancelled from 9 to 4 days prior to pick-up: 50% of Gross Rental.
  • If cancelled 3 days or less prior to pick-up or a No Show: 100% of Gross Rental.
  • Customers who fail to arrive on departure day or decline vehicle at departure day for whatever reason are considered as a departure day cancellation.
  • Late Pick-up or early return of vehicle, does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.

Personal travel insurance is not included. Blue Travel strongly recommends that you take out travel insurance which includes cancellation insurance.
