Rental Locations and Office Hours
Depot locations in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Broome, Cairns, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, office hours are:

All vehicles must be collected from and returned to a KEA Campers branch. No exceptions.

All Standard Rates inclusions plus:
- Full insurance cover with Nil excess (multiple tire and windscreen replacements)
- One way rental fee
- Camping table, camping chairs and beach umbrella
- Child / booster seat (if required)
Minimum Rental and Rental Duration
Minimum rental period: 5 days.
Minimum rental is extended to 10 days for travel 20 Dec 2008 to 05 Jan 2009.
Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick-up or drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective of what time it is collected or dropped off.
Long-term Rental
Long-term rental discounts: 4% for rentals 50 and more days, 7% for rentals 75 and more days and 10% for rentals 100 and more days. These discounts are deducted from the 28+ day rates.
Multiple Rentals
Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify for a longer term rental rate. Australia and New Zealand rentals can be combined to qualify if travel is within a 12 month period.
One Way Rental Fee
One way rentals are available between all depot locations. A one way rental fee of AUD 275 (AUD 200 until 31 Mar 2008) is charged for rentals of 20 days or less.
Remote Area Surcharge Fee
A Remote Area Surcharge fee of AUD 750 (AUD 500 until 31 Mar 2008) is applicable for all rentals involving pick up and/or drop off in Broome.
License and Minimum Age
A valid national drivers license is required. National drivers licenses, which are not in English, need to be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international drivers license. The minimum age is 21 years.
Standard Excess Insurance Cover
All KEA Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of AUD 5,000 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tires. A security bond of AUD 5,000 will be taken on vehicle collection. The security bond can be paid by cash, traveler's cheques or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately, any currency fluctuations are not the responsibility of KEA Campers. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition, with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property, with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank has been emptied and no equipment lost or damaged.
KEA Campers offer the following two (2) options to reduce or waive the Standard Excess:
Excess Reduction 1
Excess Reduction 1 at AUD 25 per day and AUD 30 per day (4WD) will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of AUD 2,000. The hirer, however, will be fully liable for daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (max. 7 days) and for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tires. The bond of AUD 2,000 can be paid by cash, traveler's cheques or credit card: a manual imprint of the credit card will be taken. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property with a full tank of fuel, the toilet cassette and waste water tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged. The total insurance charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days or AUD 1,250 and AUD 1,500 respectively.
Excess Reduction 2
Excess Reduction 2 at AUD 35 per day and AUD 40 per day (4WD) will waive the excess for any vehicle and third party property damage and the cost of replacing or repairing windscreens and tires. However, a security deposit of AUD 250 is payable at the time of pickup to ensure that the vehicle is returned to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition and the toilet cassette and waste water tank has been emptied and no items are lost or damaged. The total insurance charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days or AUD 1,750 and AUD 2,000 respectively.
Important:
The renter is fully liable for any damage to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property if:
- The terms of the rental contract are breached.
- Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, willful or reckless driving.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Driving on restricted roads.
- Water submersion or salt water damage caused through own fault.
In case of any damage to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property a second bond will be collected to cover the excess for any subsequent damage.
Restrictions
Campervans and motorhomes can only be driven on sealed roads or well-maintained unsealed roads leading to holiday and/or national parks - max. 20 km one way. 4WD's are allowed on recognized 4WD tracks. Special terms and conditions apply for travel in the following areas: Cape York, Simpson Desert, Gunbarrel Highway, Canning Stock Route, Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, the Warburton Road, Tanami Track, Gibb River Road and any other area in excess of 100 kilometers from the nearest sealed road. No vehicle is to be taken into salt water. No animals permitted in vehicles. No smoking permitted in vehicles.
Repairs
Repairs of up to AUD 100 may be effected without authorization and will be reimbursed. Amounts above AUD 100 require approval from KEA Campers on-road assistance.
Vehicle Return
All vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank. Re-fuelling at our depot will be charged at AUD 2.50 per liter of fuel, plus handling fee of AUD 15.

Change of Vehicle
If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any form of refund.
Taxes
All charges include 10% GST and 2.5% Local State Tax. All rates and conditions are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.
Problems with the Vehicle
Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to KEA Campers as soon as possible, in order to give KEA Campers the opportunity to rectify this problem during the rental.
KEA Campers does not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.
