Leaving the coast behind the train passes near Mossel Bay, where the Portuguese navigator, Bartholomew Dias, made his first landfall after unknowingly rounding the Cape of Good Hope in 1488. |

From this center one can investigate the treasures of the area which include the Oudtshoorn ostrich farms, the Cango Caves, the Tsitsikama forests and other scenic attractions too numerous to list here.
